

{"id":5501,"date":"2025-02-08T23:54:56","date_gmt":"2025-02-08T14:54:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/test.zoology.or.jp\/?page_id=5501"},"modified":"2026-06-26T15:43:42","modified_gmt":"2026-06-26T06:43:42","slug":"terms-hokkaido","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.zoology.or.jp\/english\/branch-hokkaido\/terms-hokkaido","title":{"rendered":"Hokkaido Branch Bylaws"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>Hokkaido Branch Regulations of the Zoological Society of Japan<\/h3>\n<h4>Article 1<\/h4>\n<p>This branch is named the Hokkaido Branch of the Zoological Society of Japan, a Public Interest Incorporated Foundation, and is composed of members of the Zoological Society of Japan residing in Hokkaido.<\/p>\n<h4>Article 2<\/h4>\n<p>The purpose of this branch is to closely collaborate with the headquarters of the Zoological Society of Japan, a public interest incorporated association, and other branches, thereby contributing to the promotion and development of zoology in Hokkaido.<\/p>\n<h4>Article 3<\/h4>\n<p>This branch shall have the following officers.<br \/>\n(A) Branch Manager: 1 person. Represents this branch and is elected from among the members.<br \/>\n(b) Branch-elected directors: 2, elected by election. The branch manager shall also serve as a branch-elected director and is included in the 2 members. Branch-elected directors cannot concurrently serve as branch representatives and branch committee members.<br \/>\n(C) Branch Representative Committee Member: 1 person, elected by election. A Branch Representative Committee Member may also serve concurrently as a Branch Committee Member.<br \/>\n(d) Branch committee members: The number prescribed by the branch officer election regulations, elected by vote.<br \/>\n(E) Officers: 2 (1 for general affairs and 1 for accounting). Appointed by the branch manager from among the members. If an officer is appointed from outside the branch committee members, that officer shall become a branch committee member regardless of the fixed number of branch committee members.<br \/>\n(F) Term of office: 2 years. The term of office in the event of a runner-up taking office and restrictions on consecutive terms shall be stipulated in the branch officer election regulations.<\/p>\n<h4>Article 4<\/h4>\n<p>This branch shall have the following organs.<br \/>\n(A) General Meeting: The general meeting shall be held at the time of the branch convention to report on branch affairs and deliberate on rule changes and other important matters. Resolutions require the approval of a majority of the attendees. In addition, an extraordinary general meeting may be held upon the request of the branch executive committee.<br \/>\n(B) Branch Executive Committee: Convened at the call of the Branch President, it shall deliberate on various matters for the smooth operation of the branch and report the results to the general meeting.<\/p>\n<h4>Article 5<\/h4>\n<p>This branch shall conduct the following activities.<br \/>\n(A) Branch convention: As a rule, held once a year. Lectures and a general meeting will be held.<br \/>\n(B) Branch Lecture Meetings: Held as appropriate.<\/p>\n<h4>Article 6<\/h4>\n<p>The expenses of this branch shall be covered by branch membership fees and donations.<\/p>\n<h4>Article 7<\/h4>\n<p>The membership fees of this branch shall be stipulated separately.<\/p>\n<h4>Supplementary Provisions<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>This branch is divided into three districts: the Sassatsu District (Ishikari, Sorachi, and Shiribeshi subprefectures and related cities), the Western District (Oshima, Hiyama, Iburi, and Hidaka subprefectures and related cities), and the Eastern District (other subprefectures and related cities).<\/li>\n<li>The contact information for this branch shall be the affiliation of the general affairs secretary.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4>Branch Officer Election Regulations<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>The branch executive committee election shall be conducted by secret ballot (electronic voting) no later than one month prior to the expiration of the committee members' term of office.<\/li>\n<li>The election of the branch manager shall be conducted by electronic voting in the branch-elected director election under the election administration committee organized by the headquarters, and the candidate with the most votes shall be the branch manager. In the case of a tie, the candidate with the later date of birth shall prevail.<\/li>\n<li>The election of the branch representative committee members shall be conducted under the election administration committee organized by the branch, and the candidate with the most votes shall be the branch representative committee member. In the case of a tie in the number of votes, the candidate with the later date of birth shall be selected.<\/li>\n<li>Branch committee members are elected through district-level elections conducted under the election administration committee organized by the branch. The fixed number of branch committee members shall be one per 10 members in each district (rounded to the nearest whole number) and shall be reviewed at the time of re-election. However, the minimum number is<span lang=\"EN-US\">2<\/span>be the name. The selection<span lang=\"EN-US\">3<\/span>be a multiple-name vote of more than [Number] names. However, if the number of members<span lang=\"EN-US\">20<\/span>elected from districts below<span lang=\"EN-US\">2<\/span>Voting shall be by multiple-name ballot. In the event of a tie for the lowest number of votes, the younger candidate shall prevail.<\/li>\n<li>The branch manager, branch-elected directors, branch representative committee members, and branch committee members of the Sapporo-Otaru district cannot be elected for three consecutive terms.<\/li>\n<li>If a vacancy arises among the branch manager, branch-elected directors, branch representative committee members, and branch committee members, the runner-up with the next highest votes shall be elected to fill the vacancy.
