

{"id":5555,"date":"2025-02-23T14:40:22","date_gmt":"2025-02-23T05:40:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/test.zoology.or.jp\/?page_id=5555"},"modified":"2025-12-19T14:46:00","modified_gmt":"2025-12-19T05:46:00","slug":"terms-kanto","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.zoology.or.jp\/english\/branch-kanto\/terms-kanto","title":{"rendered":"Kanto Branch Bylaws"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>Bylaws of the Kanto Branch of the Zoological Society of Japan<\/h3>\n<p>Based on Article 13 of the Detailed Regulations of the Zoological Society of Japan (hereinafter referred to as the Detailed Regulations) and the Regulations for Branches of the Zoological Society of Japan (hereinafter referred to as the Branch Regulations), the bylaws of the Kanto Branch of the Zoological Society of Japan (hereinafter referred to as the Kanto Branch) are established as follows.<\/p>\n<h4>Article 1 Purpose<\/h4>\n<p>The Kanto Branch aims to contribute to the popularization and development of zoology in the Kanto region by maintaining close cooperation with the headquarters of the Zoological Society of Japan and other branches.<\/p>\n<h4>Article 2: Kanto Branch and Branch Members<\/h4>\n<p>The Kanto Branch is composed of members of the Kanto Branch of the Zoological Society of Japan (hereinafter referred to as branch members), as stipulated in Article 13 of the Bylaws and Article 2 of the Branch Regulations.<br \/>\n2. Branch members may participate in activities conducted by the Kanto Branch and receive distributions of printed materials published by the Kanto Branch. In addition, they may submit opinions regarding the operation of the Kanto Branch to the branch general meeting and the branch committee.<br \/>\n(Membership fee section deleted)<\/p>\n<h4>Article 3 Branch Committee<\/h4>\n<p>The Kanto Branch shall have a Kanto Branch Committee (hereinafter abbreviated as the Branch Committee). The Branch Committee shall consist of the directors elected from the Kanto Branch based on Article 8 of the Bylaws, the branch representative members of the Kanto Branch based on Article 4 of the Branch Regulations, and the branch members.<br \/>\n2. The tasks of the branch committee are as follows:<br \/>\n(1) Co-organize the Kanto Branch Conference with the Branch Conference Executive Committee.<br \/>\n(2) Hold the Kanto Branch General Meeting.<br \/>\n(3) Hold symposiums, workshops, etc.<br \/>\n(4) When proposals regarding the management of the Zoological Society of Japan or the Kanto Branch are made by branch members, they shall be deliberated.<\/p>\n<h4>Article 4: Branch Managers, Branch Representative Committee Members, and Branch Committee Members<\/h4>\n<p>(1) The branch manager shall be elected in accordance with Article 3 of the Branch Regulations.<br \/>\n(2) Branch representative committee members shall be elected in accordance with Article 4 of the Branch Regulations.<br \/>\n(3) Branch committee members shall be elected by branch members who are voting members of the Zoological Society of Japan, a public interest incorporated association. The fixed number of branch committee members shall be six. Candidates for branch committee members shall be selected from regular members and student members.<br \/>\n(4) The term of office for branch committee members shall be two years, and individuals who have served as a director, auditor, branch representative committee member, or branch committee member for two consecutive terms immediately preceding the election may not become branch committee members. Furthermore, directors, auditors, and branch representative committee members cannot serve as branch committee members.<br \/>\n(5) To promote branch activities, the branch manager may appoint a small number of specially appointed committee members to assist the duties of the branch committee members. The term of office for specially appointed committee members shall not exceed the term of office for branch committee members, and their appointment requires clearly specifying their duties and obtaining the approval of the branch committee.<\/p>\n<h4>Article 5 Branch General Meeting<\/h4>\n<p>The Kanto Branch shall have a Kanto Branch General Meeting (hereinafter abbreviated as the Branch General Meeting) as a decision-making body, which shall be composed of the branch members attending the Branch General Meeting.<br \/>\n(1) The general branch meeting is normally held once a year during the Kanto Branch convention.<br \/>\n(2) An extraordinary branch general meeting shall be held when the branch manager deems it necessary and it is approved by the branch committee, or when requested by at least one-third of the branch committee members or at least one-tenth of the branch members, with the purpose of the meeting specified.<br \/>\n(3) The chairperson is elected at the branch general meeting.<\/p>\n<h4>Article 6 Election Administration and Activity Audit<\/h4>\n<p>For each term of office, the branch committee shall nominate two election administration committee members and two audit committee members from among the branch members who are not branch committee members, and shall obtain the approval of the branch general meeting.<br \/>\n(1) The election administration committee shall manage the election of branch committee members. The method of election shall be provided for separately.<br \/>\n(2) The auditor shall audit, for each fiscal year, one person to verify whether the branch's activities and related expenditures are appropriate.<\/p>\n<h4>Article 7 Amendment of Provisions<\/h4>\n<p>Amendments to these regulations must be approved by the branch committee and then require the consent of at least two-thirds of the branch members present at the general branch meeting. The branch committee must notify branch members of the voting results regarding the proposed amendment.<\/p>\n<h4>Supplementary Provisions<\/h4>\n<p>These Terms of Service shall become effective as of March 16, 2025.<\/p>\n<h3>Bylaws of the Kanto Branch<\/h3>\n<p>(Deletion of the section on branch membership fees)<\/p>\n<h4>Article 1: Branch Committee Election<\/h4>\n<p>(1) Voting shall be secret and allow for multiple candidates up to the fixed number of seats.<br \/>\n(2) Branch committee members may run for election. Candidates must notify the Election Administration Committee up to one week prior to the election notice date.<br \/>\n(3) Branch members eligible for election may be nominated as branch committee member candidates if they have the recommendation of two branch members, or the recommendation of one director or branch representative committee member. However, a recommender cannot nominate two or more branch members as branch committee member candidates at the same time. Recommenders must notify the Election Administration Committee of the names of the nominee and the recommender by one week prior to the date of the election public notice.<br \/>\n(4) The election committee members shall publicly notify all branch members of the candidates, eligible voters, and nominators by three days before the start of voting or by two weeks before the end of voting for the branch committee election.<br \/>\n(5) Candidates are elected in descending order of votes received up to the fixed number of seats. In the case of a tie, younger candidates shall be ranked higher.<br \/>\n(6) If a vacancy arises among the branch committee members due to resignation, transfer, long-term absence, or other reasons, the runner-up or subsequent candidates shall be promoted to branch committee members, provided they are able to serve as branch committee members for at least one year. If there are multiple candidates with the same number of votes among the runners-up or subsequent candidates, the younger candidate shall be given higher priority. However, auditors are excluded from the promotion process.<\/p>\n<h4>Article 2: Duties of the Branch Committee<\/h4>\n<p>(1) The branch committee shall consist of a branch chairperson, a general affairs committee member, a public relations committee member, a treasury committee member, and a planning committee member.<br \/>\n(2) As the representative, the branch manager shall supervise all branch activities, conduct branch committee meetings, and hold general branch meetings.<br \/>\n(3) The general affairs branch committee member shall hold branch committee meetings and prepare the minutes of the branch committee meetings.<br \/>\n(4) The Public Relations Branch Committee Member shall publish the branch committee meeting minutes, planning, and other information to the branch members.<br \/>\n(5) The branch committee member in charge of accounting prepares expenditure plans and financial statements for branch activity funds provided by headquarters, handles cash receipts, disbursements, and management, purchases and sells goods, and organizes and stores accounting books and voucher documents.<br \/>\n(6) The planning branch committee members shall plan and organize symposiums, workshops, and other events hosted by the branch, apply for Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research regarding the publication of results, and handle related reporting.<br \/>\n(7) Specially Appointed Committee Members shall assist the activities of branch committee members in charge within the scope of designated duties.<\/p>\n<h4>Article 3: Eligibility for Presentation at Branch Conventions<\/h4>\n<p>To present research results at a branch meeting, at least one of the presenters must be a member of the Zoological Society of Japan.
