The 2024 Chubu Branch Meeting of the Zoological Society of Japan was successfully held on December 7 (Sat) and 8 (Sun).

■ FY2024 Branch Conference Oral Presentation and Poster Presentation Best Presentation Award(12/09/2024)
In the graduate and undergraduate student category, 18 oral presentations and 6 poster presentations were given, and in the high school and technical college student category, 4 oral presentations and 16 poster presentations were given. From among them, the following presentations were selected for the Best Presentation Award.

Day 1Public SymposiumEvolution and Origin of Vertebrates: New Developments from Evolutionary Morphology and Stem Cell Biologyand will give an oral presentation titled "
Day 2I will give an oral presentation and a poster presentation. The second day's presentations will focus on high school and technical college students.
The conference registration fee is free for high school students, technical college students, university students, and graduate students, and 1,000 yen for the general public.
Registration for the branch meeting and abstract submission will be open from Tuesday, October 1 to Sunday, November 10.
If you are only attending, registration is possible even after November 10th.

● To Presenters: Guidance on Presentations
Both oral and poster presentations are generally limited to members of the Zoological Society.
General non-members are only allowed to audit the lecture.
High school students (including technical college students) and students (including graduate students) can present even if they are non-members.
Please understand that the presentation format may be subject to change depending on the circumstances.
The time limit for oral presentations is 5 minutes for high school and technical college students, and 10 minutes for university students and the general public.
Oral presentations by high school and technical college students are in a hybrid format (in-person or Webex (https://www.webex.com/ja/index.html) presentation), we will prepare. Oral presentations for undergraduate students to the general public, as well as all poster presentations, are scheduled to be held in person.
We plan to select the Best Presentation Award and Excellence Presentation Award from oral and poster presentations by high school and technical college students, as well as from oral and poster presentations by undergraduate and graduate students. Interest in participating in the selection process will be asked on the presentation application form.

* Cantas Alev (Kyoto University, Institute for Advanced Study,ASHBi) Towards reconstructing vertebrate axial development in vitro
Dr. Alev's presentation and Q&A session will be conducted in English. Presentations and Q&A sessions by other instructors will be in Japanese.
