The 97th Sapporo Convention Childcare Room Application: Information on Final Registration

At the Sapporo Annual Meeting of the Zoological Society of Japan, a childcare room will be provided as in previous years to ensure that participants with children can attend with peace of mind.
If you would like to use the childcare room, please read the information below and apply via the "Childcare Room Application Form" by Thursday, August 13.
Also, those who did not respond to the initial preference survey conducted in July may also apply.

The overview of the childcare reception is as follows:

Accepted age range:
From age 0 to the 6th grade of elementary school

Acceptable hours:
Thursday, September 3, 8:30 AM – 6:00 PM
Friday, September 4, 8:30 AM - 6:00 PM
September 5 (Sat) 8:30–16:00

Location: Hokkaido University (Sapporo Campus)
*For security purposes, details will only be provided to the registered user.

Contractor: Sapporo Sitter Service Co., Ltd.

Fees and Payment: The academic society will cover a portion of the costs. After the conference, the society will contact each user individually. The financial burden on our members will be kept to about the same level as in previous years.

Cancellations and Changes: If you are unavoidably required to make changes or cancellations, please contact the Zoological Society of Japan Childcare Desk promptly. (Contact information will be provided only to those who have applied.)

Regarding the number of available slots: We are preparing so that as many people as possible can use the service, but if the maximum capacity that the childcare staff can accept is reached, we may have to decline your request.
Due to the contractor's policy, two childcare staff members must accompany you.

Items to be provided by parents/guardians
◎ Drinks (what your child usually drinks)
◎ Change of clothes (in case of potential contamination from restroom use or food/drink)
◎ Diapers, paper pants, baby wipes (as needed)
Lunch (dinner), snack (as needed) *Food and drinks are not provided in the childcare room.
◎Milk, baby bottle, hot water (if necessary, please prepare what you usually drink.)

*Please note that meals are not provided in the childcare room. During lunch (dinner), please either pick up your child or bring a lunch (dinner) with you. Children will only be permitted to consume food brought by you. *Please be forewarned that we assume no responsibility whatsoever in the unlikely event of food poisoning or illness.

(2) If the childcare staff determines that the child is not suited for group childcare, such as in the case of a fever on the day of care (37.5°C or higher) or a persistent cough, we may refuse to accept the child.
(3) Wearing a mask is optional, but there may be times when people are encouraged to wear one.
④ In case of emergency, we will call you on your mobile phone. Please be sure to provide an emergency contact number on the Childcare Room Application Form. Also, please respond promptly if we do call.
⑤ Childcare staff cannot administer medication.
⑥ Please be strictly punctual for both drop-off and pick-up.
7. If the person dropping off and the person picking up are different, please inform us at the time of reception. Please write your name on all of your belongings. We cannot assume responsibility for any items without a name.
