Dear Members of the Zoological Society of Japan

The Zoological Society of Japan, a public interest incorporated association, hereby announces the election and will hold the 2022-2023 Board of Directors election as follows. (Term of office: September 2022 to September 2024)

The following individuals cannot be "candidates for election" in this board election based on Article 26 of the Articles of Incorporation, so their names will be removed from the roster of eligible candidates for each branch.
Kanto Branch: Takuma Fukutsu, Susumu Hyodo, Hisashi Kato, Kazuo Inaba
Kyushu Branch Jiro Okada

Also, Bylaws Chapter 2, Article 8 (Board member candidates shall be elected from general members and student members)
Based on this, honorary members, long-standing members, senior members, and junior/senior high school teacher members will have their names removed from the candidate roster. Elections will be conducted via electronic voting. Those who wish to vote by postal mail, please let us know by replying to this email. The secretariat will send you the roster, ballot, and return envelope.

Official announcement of the election
Based on Article 2, Chapters 8 and 9 of the Bylaws of the Zoological Society of Japan, the election will be conducted by secret ballot with multiple votes per voter for the fixed number of seats specified below for each branch.

1. Fixed number: Total number of board members 18

Hokkaido Branch 2 people
Tohoku Branch 2 people
Kanto Branch 6 people
Central Branch: 2 people
Kinki Branch 2 people
Chugoku-Shikoku Branch: 2 people
Kyushu Branch 2 people

2. Election period
Monday, April 4, 2022, to Friday, April 15, 2022, at noon
Mail-in ballots must arrive by noon on Friday, April 15.
