I am deeply saddened by the damage caused by the record-breaking heavy rain in Chiba Prefecture in August 2026.
Our heartfelt sympathies go out to all those affected and their families, and we pray for the safety of everyone working tirelessly toward recovery and reconstruction, and for a speedy restoration as soon as possible.

Although our resources are limited, the Zoological Society of Japan will exempt members affected by the Reiwa 8 Chiba torrential rain from their 2026 membership dues simply upon request to the Society.
