Dear Members of the Zoological Society of Japan,

When we issued a public call for applications for the Narishige Animal Science Promotion Award, which was established this year, we received applications from 19 members. The Selection Committee met on July 7 at 7:00 PM to conduct a careful review. As a result of this deliberation, we have decided to recommend member Marina Dan for her research on "Biological Hierarchical Systems" as the candidate for the inaugural Narishige Animal Science Promotion Award this year, and we will submit this recommendation to the Narishige Animal Science Fund.

Please note that this selection process and its results apply only to this year and will not affect the selection process for the next fiscal year or later.
