Dear Members of the Zoological Society of Japan

Following a rigorous review by the Zoological Society Award and Other Prizes Selection Committee, the Board of Directors of the Zoological Society of Japan has decided to present the 2020 Kawaguchi Award to the following two members.

Jumpei Yamakawa (University of Tsukuba, Life and Environmental Sciences) Attended International Conference: The 5th International Congress on Invertebrate Morphology (University of Vienna)

Yusuke Sakai (National Institute for Biology) Attended International Conference: 14th International Coral Reef Symposium (Bremen, Germany)

In addition, in response to reports of the cancellation of many international conferences due to the spread of the novel coronavirus infection, the Board of Directors has resolved the following policy for this year only.

You are required to use this prize money to attend and present at the postponed international conference or an international conference deemed equivalent to the academic society you applied for, and submit a report. If the originally planned international conference is canceled or postponed, please contact the secretariat.
