Japanese Society of Electron Microscopy for Medical Biology - Academic Conference, General Meeting and Symposium

We are pleased to announce the 37th Annual Academic Conference and General Meeting of the Japanese Society of Electron Microscopy in Medicine and Biology, along with the 19th Symposium on Electron Microscopy in Medicine and Biology (held online on October 30 [Sat] and 31 [Sun], 2021).

This academic society is an organization primarily driven by researchers and engineers involved in analysis using electron machines. Entering the 21st century, cross-disciplinary research has become commonplace, and an era has arrived where research can no longer be discussed solely in terms of electron microscope analysis. Therefore, our society believes that interaction with academic organizations in a broader range of fields is essential. Particularly in recent years, due to remarkable advancements in electron microscope equipment and technology, the application and usefulness of electron microscopic observation and analysis for various engineering samples has expanded significantly.

Furthermore, while electron microscopy observations using biological specimens have traditionally targeted experimental organisms and medical research, we believe that there remains room for further development—not only in observing all ultrafine morphologies ranging from normal tissues to pathological diagnosis and other natural organisms, but also in areas such as function acquisition and molecular visualization.
