The broadcast of the NHK Special series "Super-Evolution Theory" is about to begin.

More than 160 years after Charles Darwin proposed the “theory of evolution,” cutting-edge science reveals a "new story of evolution."

Amidst fierce competition for survival, it portrays the true nature of the diversity of life, where species are complexly connected beyond boundaries and live by helping one another.

The star of Episode 1 is the "plant." Fairy-tale-like facts—such as plants talking to distant peers—and surprising realities—such as plants using dozens of sensitive sensors to perceive and survive their surroundings—are revealed one after another. The world in which plants live is fully depicted through special photography utilizing cutting-edge technology and high-definition VFX imagery.
