International Prize for Biology Commemorative Symposium Guide

We would like to express our sincere gratitude for your continued cooperation and support regarding the programs of the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science.

The International Prize for Biology, for which this society serves as the secretariat, was established to commemorate the 60th year of the reign of Emperor Showa and his many years of biological research, as well as the many years of research in fish taxonomy (specifically gobies) by His Majesty Emperor Emeritus Akihito, who has contributed to the development of this prize. Aiming to encourage the advancement of biology, this marks the 38th year of the prize.

This coming December, we will hold the commemorative symposiums for the 37th International Prize for Biology (field: "Biology of Human Evolution") and the 38th International Prize for Biology (field: "Biology of Fishes") as detailed below.

In both sessions, leading researchers from Japan and abroad representing each field will gather to give lectures on cutting-edge research.
We invite many of you to take this opportunity to participate.
