Starting this fiscal year, we have newly established the Women's Advancement Support Category and the Challenge Support Category within our research support programs, independent of the conventionally implemented research assistance (recommended slot). The Women's Advancement Support Category provides research support that leads to future success for female researchers who have the ability to conduct outstanding research, but who temporarily find it difficult to fully carry out their research due to various life events. These difficulties are expected to include childbirth, childcare, raising children, and nursing care, which should be shared regardless of gender, but this time we have decided to limit support to women. We will consider providing support without gender distinction in the future. On the other hand, the Challenge Support Category targets researchers who have a strong desire to continue and develop their research, even though their duties other than research have increased within their affiliated organization and the effort they spend on research has temporarily decreased.

The new slots are open to the general public without the need for a recommendation. There are no changes to the purpose, scale, or expected number of acceptances for the conventional academic society recommendation slots. Please check each application page for details.
