(Explanation of the Forum's Purpose)
In March of last year, 2024, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) proposed the "Doctoral Human Resources Active Participation Plan - Let's Get a Doctoral Degree -." As part of this, a request titled "Request for Corporate Cooperation for the Promotion of Active Participation of Doctoral Human Resources" was issued to the heads of economic and industry associations as a "request to industry" (please refer to the reference below).
We are notifying member companies and other corporate stakeholders about the following seven matters and calling for their cooperation.
1. Expansion of hiring and improvement of treatment for doctoral human resources
2. Promoting the evaluation of overseas study experience in the hiring process for doctoral human resources
3. Promotion of internships for doctoral students
4. Promoting the utilization of corporate tax credits associated with the employment of doctoral human resources
5. Promotion of the utilization of the scholarship repayment assistance system by corporations and others
6. Support for employees obtaining doctoral degrees
7. Selection and dissemination of information on role models of doctoral human resources active in corporations
At this forum, we conducted a questionnaire survey on this topic targeting universities, pharmaceutical companies, and medical institutions, and were able to obtain very interesting results.
On the day of the forum, we plan to release the results of the questionnaire survey and hold a panel discussion to facilitate an exchange of opinions among various stakeholders regarding the training and development of doctoral human resources.
Furthermore, we hope to discuss future activities that the Federation of Pharmaceutical Learned Societies of Japan should undertake, thereby contributing to the development of pharmaceutical researchers in our country.
