Overview:
The Unique Club is back again this year!
This research group holds an annual 1-night, 2-day seminar with around 50 participating researchers who present on "little-known, esoteric creatures" and "surprising and fascinating traits possessed by organisms." This time, it will be held in the Kanto region for the first time in three years (and the first time in six years in a fully in-person format), at Kitasato University, a "comprehensive university of life sciences" boasting numerous departments in the life sciences.
In this research group, all participants are required to sign a confidentiality agreement. As a result, rather than simply serving as a venue for reporting research results, it has also functioned effectively as a place where people can passionately discuss ongoing research, future prospects and ambitions, and the intrinsic appeal of their work, thereby promoting collaborative research based on these discussions.
Regardless of whether they work with model or non-model organisms, and regardless of whether they are students, early-career, mid-career, or senior researchers, I hope many people will participate and share fascinating biological phenomena. We sincerely look forward to the participation of many of you.
