The Nakatani Foundation was established in 1984 as the "Nakatani Foundation for the Advancement of Electronic Measuring Technology" by Taro Nakatani, the founder of the medical device manufacturer Sysmex Corporation.
Following a bequest from his son, Tadashi Nakatani, who carried on that vision, it was reborn in 2012 as a foundation capable of undertaking large-scale projects.
Our foundation aims to promote the widespread development of medical and engineering measurement technologies and contribute to the improvement of society and daily life.
Our core activities include subsidizing pioneering technological developments in the field of medical and engineering measurement technology, alongside recognizing researchers who have achieved remarkable results in technological development and supporting technical exchanges.
Additionally, to foster young talent, we are launching support programs for students ranging from elementary, middle, and high school to university students studying abroad, as well as scholarship programs for graduate students, aiming to broaden the foundation of researchers.
