Specialization: Biology and anthropology from the individual to the population level and related fields, environmental conservation measures and related fields, production environmental agriculture and related fields, forest sphere science and aquatic applied science and related fields (especially behavioral science, evolutionary science, natural symbiosis system science, conservation biology, environmental science, etc. related to wildlife), biology (molecular biology, genomic biology, cell biology, evolutionary biology, or related fields).
Qualifications: (1) In principle, individuals within 10 years of obtaining a doctoral degree in their specialized field (including those expected to obtain a degree by the start date). Nationality is not restricted, but applicants should preferably have a level of Japanese language proficiency that does not hinder the performance of duties. (2) Individuals with research achievements in the above-mentioned specialized fields who are enthusiastic about conducting interdisciplinary and convergent research. (3) Must have at least one first-author SCI paper and a total of three or more SCI papers including co-authored ones. It is preferable to have a track record of securing external funding, such as Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research (KAKENHI), as a principal investigator (including JSPS Research Fellows DC, PD, and RPD). (4) Individuals who understand the objectives of the Swing-by Program and are able to work enthusiastically toward them. (5) Individuals who can reside in Niigata City or its vicinity after appointment and carry out their duties.
