My name is Akiko Yamamoto from the Nagao Natural Environment Foundation.
We are pleased to introduce the newly launched "Research Grant Program for Japanese Researchers (J-Pro)" by our foundation. This program marks our foundation's first grant initiative dedicated to Japanese researchers, and its objective is to support research and studies on the conservation and protection of the natural environment in developing countries within the Asia and Oceania regions.

2025 "Japanese Researcher Support Program (J-Pro) Research Grant Program"
1. Target fields, target countries, and application requirements
We subsidize research on the conservation and protection of the natural environment in developing countries (target countries) in the Asia-Oceania region.
Grant applicants must hold Japanese nationality and fall under any of the following categories; however, in all cases, a joint research project with a local researcher is required.
Eligibility Requirement A: Ph.D. holders affiliated with a research institution such as a university in Japan and engaged in research activities, or individuals with at least five years of research experience and corresponding research achievements.
Application Qualification B: Those who are enrolled in a doctoral program at a graduate school in Japan, or those who have been accepted or decided to enroll in such a program. Approval from the main academic advisor is required.
2. Grant amount and period
Research funding of 1.5 million to 2 million yen per project will be provided as an upper limit. However, domestic travel expenses for local collaborative researchers and travel expenses for primary academic advisors must be applied for separately.
The grant period is within 2 years.
3. Application Deadline
Applications for the first session of fiscal year 2025 are currently being accepted.
