Since 2000, the Japan Chemical Industry Association (JCIA) has been promoting the Long-range Research Initiative (LRI), a research grant program that provides long-term support for research on "the effects of chemical substances on human health and the environment." This activity is promoted in coordination among the chemical industry associations of the three regions—Japan, the United States, and Europe—under the International Council of Chemical Associations (ICCA).

JCIA LRI is calling for research proposals for the 14th term (March 1, 2026 – February 28, 2027).
