About the Nakayama Foundation for Human Science Awards and Research Grants

This is to inform you that the Nakayama Foundation for Human Science has requested our dissemination and nomination for the Nakayama Human Science Prize and research grants.

If you wish to receive a recommendation from the Zoological Society, please review the guidelines and other details from the information below and reply to this email.
I will provide the details regarding the application documents, which must be submitted to this organization by noon on Friday, March 13, 2026.

Information on the 35th (FY2026) Nakayama Foundation for Human Science Awards and Research Grants

1. Nakayama Prize for Human Sciences (Award: 5 million yen): Honors researchers who have achieved original and outstanding results in the sciences of human beings, or research results characterized by interdisciplinarity that crosses academic fields.
2. "Research Grant" (Grant: applications up to 1 million yen): We provide research grants to promising researchers conducting original research on the science of human beings.
Applications require the submission of a recommendation letter from the representative of the academic society to which the applicant belongs (representative director, president) or an expert in a related field. *Please note that applications for the Nakayama Human Science Prize are accepted exclusively through a nomination process (application by a recommender).

Please notify us only if you wish to apply through a society recommendation. The recommender will be determined after deliberation by the Foundation Recommendation Candidate Selection Committee.
