Notice of the "Science Festival for Youth - Niigata/Joetsu Convention" to be Held

We are holding the Science Festival for Youth: Niigata-Joetsu Convention. Please come and join us.

1. Purpose of the Event
The “Science Festival for Youth,” which began in 1992, marks its 30th year in 2021. It is said that understanding science and technology is not merely a matter of transmitting knowledge, but that practical experiences such as observations and experiments are effective, and in particular, the awe and experiences felt during childhood remain as a formative landscape for a lifetime. With the philosophy that "Right now, opportunities for hands-on experience are simply disappearing! We need opportunities to experience the fascination of science," the "Science Festival for Youth" aims to provide as many young people as possible with the opportunity to experience the fun and excitement of science and technology, as well as the joy and wonder of discovery.
Teachers and students from elementary school to university, full of creativity and enthusiasm, gather in one place to present a wide variety of experiments and crafts covering various fields of science throughout the venue, much like festival stalls, using their own unique methods. Visitors can participate in whatever catches their interest, ask instructors questions directly about things they find mysterious, and experience the joy of science and technology.
The "Science Festival for Youth" is a nationwide initiative aimed at sharing such valuable experiences together.
Based on the above purpose, this will be implemented as a project of the Joetsu Science Museum with the cooperation of relevant parties.
