Dear Members of the Zoological Society of Japan
On September 20-21 (Fri-Sat), we will hold a symposium for the Grant-in-Aid for Transformative Research Areas (B) "Contrarian Biology: Mechanisms of New Social Equilibrium Brought by Contrarian Strategies."
For this symposium, we are planning 1: progress presentations by the four planned research groups in the area, 2: guest lectures by two invited speakers (Dr. Takao Sasaki from the University of Georgia and Dr. Kazuhiro Wata from Hokkaido University), 3: poster presentations, and 4: a workshop.
In this field, while members have pursued their individual research plans, the steering committee has held repeated discussions among members to list and organize possibilities for "how contrarian individuals can be defined and studied." In this symposium, rather than simply sharing these findings externally, we would like to receive your diverse opinions, comments, and proposals in order to further embody and develop "contrarian biology."
Date: Friday, September 20, 2024: 13:00 - 17:30
September 21, 2024 (Saturday): 10:00 - 16:00
Spoken Language: Japanese
Eligibility: Participation is free, but advance registration is required.
In particular, we are calling for participants for poster presentations and workshops, so please feel free to register. The content of the poster presentations does not need to be related to contrarians.
We sincerely look forward to your participation.
Thank you for your cooperation.
