Introduction

The 90th Annual Meeting of the Zoological Society of Japan will be held for three days from September 12 (Thursday) to September 14 (Saturday), 2019, at the Sugimoto Campus of Osaka City University, located in Sumiyoshi-ku, Osaka City. It is accessible within 60 minutes from JR Shin-Osaka Station, Osaka Itami Airport, and Kansai Airport.

All general presentations will be oral presentations. As this is a great opportunity for students to give oral presentations as well, we strongly encourage you to submit abstracts. We also plan to hold many open-call symposia and related meetings. Applications are already open, and we look forward to submissions from many of our members. Registration fees for undergraduate students who are not presenting abstracts have been made free of charge. We hope many people will attend and help make the conference a great success.

The venue is also close to the center of the "Kuidaore town" (city of eating until you drop), and there are many delicious things besides takoyaki and okonomiyaki, so please enjoy Osaka's food culture as well.

5. Symposia and Related Meetings
For this tournament, the deadline for submitting proposals for symposia and related meetings is set for Friday, March 29.

Please note that while we plan to accommodate many open-call symposia and related meetings, the number of available venues and time slots is limited, so we may not be able to meet all requests.

6. General presentation
All general presentations at this conference will be oral presentations and will be held on the first and third days of the conference (both morning and afternoon). Presentation guidelines will be posted on the conference website.
For oral presentations, please use your own computer connected to the LCD projector provided by the organizing committee. You will be responsible for operating your computer and connecting all necessary cables and power adapters yourself. Thank you for your cooperation.
General presentations as the main presenter (oral presenter) are limited to one per person. Since presentations are restricted to members of the Zoological Society of Japan, non-members must join the Society and pay their membership dues before applying to present. Procedures for membership and payment of dues can be found on the Zoological Society of Japan website (https://www.zoology.or.jp/member/index.aspPlease start from ).
Even if you are a member, those who have not paid their membership dues up to fiscal year 2019 cannot make a presentation, so please apply for a presentation after paying your dues.

7. How to participate in the conference and register abstracts
Applications are to be made via the internet in principle. If you cannot use the internet, please contact the Tournament Executive Committee (zs2019osk(at)sci.osaka-cu.ac.jp) please contact.
Applicants wishing to participate should visit the tournament website (https://www.zoology.or.jp/annual-meeting/2/), and complete your registration (a Zoological Society of Japan membership number is required for registration). The conference website can be found on the Zoological Society of Japan website (https://www.zoology.or.jp/) as well. Applications via the website are currently in preparation. We will notify you again once applications become available.
Once you have entered the required information and completed the payment of the registration fee by credit card, a registration ID will be issued and displayed on the screen. The registration ID is required when submitting an abstract, so be sure to print and keep it.

What is the deadline for abstract submission?Friday, May 31, 2019 at 12:00 PMAnd modifications can be made until noon on Friday, June 7th.

Online registration and payment of registration fees will be accepted until Friday, August 30; however, if you register after noon on Friday, June 7, your name may not be included in the participant list of the proceedings. On-site registration is also available and will be accepted at the conference venue.

Please pay the conference registration and banquet fees by credit card after completing your registration. Cards with a name different from that of the participant may also be used. Information such as the cardholder's name and card number will be used solely for credit card payment, and neither the Zoological Society of Japan nor the Osaka Conference Executive Committee will have access to this data.
Cancellation of tournament participation is possible until Friday, August 30. If you are unavoidably cancelling your participation, please contact the Zoological Society Secretariat (zsj-society(at)zoology.or.jp) Please note that we cannot issue refunds for the participation fee and social gathering fee for any cancellations made after this point.

9. Presentations by elementary, middle, and high school students
Poster presentations of biological research by elementary, junior high, and high school students will be held on the third day of the conference (Saturday, September 14). Details will be posted on the conference website under "Elementary, Junior High, and High School Presentations."

10. Public Symposium: Zoology Plaza
The public symposium "Wildlife Living in the Urban Environment of Osaka" will be held on the afternoon of the 3rd day of the conference (Saturday, September 14). In addition, the Zoology Plaza will be held starting from the morning of the 3rd day of the conference (Saturday, September 14). Details will be posted on the conference website as they become available.

11. Nursery
A childcare room will be established during the conference. A "Childcare Survey of Interest" will be conducted in July, followed by a final call for childcare requests in late August. Contracts will be concluded directly between the users and the childcare contractor. Please note that the conference will subsidize up to half of the childcare fees, but the subsidy rate may vary depending on the usage status of the childcare room.

12. Social gathering

A social gathering will be held at . If you are bringing a guest, please also pay the guest's social gathering fee when registering for the conference. We look forward to the participation of many conference attendees.

13. Accommodation, etc.
There are no large hotels near the venue. Basically, you will need to use public transportation to travel between your lodging and the venue. Accommodations in southern Osaka (around Tennoji) are expected to be crowded, so we recommend booking your stay early.
