In August, volunteers from the Evolutionary Genetics Laboratory at Tokyo Metropolitan University will hold the "Drosophila Evolutionary Diversity Meeting" online.
This society consists of a lecture session and a social gathering. In the lecture session, we have invited Dr. Machiko Hatsumi and Dr. Masayoshi Watada, who have spent many years conducting research using non-model Drosophila species. They will share stories about the advantages of working with non-model species, the insights gained so far, and the ups and downs of their research lives. For the social gathering, we plan to create casual interaction rooms based on themes related to flies and research life gathered from everyone. You will be able to interact with various people while changing themes and participants at set intervals in a relaxed setting.
Please feel free to join us if you are interested. We would also appreciate it if you could share this announcement with anyone who might be interested.
