At the meeting of the Zoological Society of Japan Board of Directors held from 12:00 on Saturday, June 17, two OM Prize candidates were recommended by the OM Prize Selection Committee.
As a result of deliberation, the Zoological Society of Japan Board of Directors has decided to present the 2023 Zoological Society of Japan OM Award for Encouragement of Female Researchers to the following two individuals.

Gene expression regulatory system determining developmental fate in early animal embryos

Yu Ishii
Research Fellowship for Young Scientists (PD), Japan Society for the Promotion of Science
Functional analysis of genes involved in intracellular symbiosis between cnidarians and symbiotic algae
