Dear Members of the Zoological Society of Japan

At the meeting of the Zoological Society of Japan Board of Directors held from 13:00 on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, three candidates for the 2025 grants were recommended by the Mariko Miebara Research Encouragement Grant Selection Committee.
As a result of its deliberation, the Zoological Society of Japan Board of Directors has decided to award grants to the following three individuals.

Tsuchida Karin (Kyoto University, Specific Assistant Professor)
Research Project Title: Why does doppelgänger phenomenon occur? The paradox faced by parasitic nematodes

Sayaka Hori (Associate Professor, Nara Women's University)
Analysis of behavioral sex differences in risk-avoidance strategies of animals with hermaphroditic and male sexual dimorphism
