Determination of the 2025 Zoological Society of Japan OM Award for Encouragement of Female Researchers

Dear Members of the Zoological Society of Japan

At the meeting of the Zoological Society of Japan Board of Directors held on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, starting at 1:00 PM, two OM Prize candidates were recommended by the OM Prize Selection Committee.
As a result of deliberation, the Zoological Society of Japan Board of Directors has decided to award the 2025 Zoological Society of Japan OM Award for Encouragement of Female Researchers to the following two individuals.

Asuka Sakazume
Research Fellow, Institute for Global Leadership, Ochanomizu University
Mechanism of gravitactic behavior in coral larvae and their roles in settlement and dispersal

Maruoka Natsumi
Utsunomiya University Center for Bioscience Research and Education, Japan Society for the Promotion of Science Postdoctoral Fellow (PD)
Elucidation of the molecular basis of dormancy strategies supporting the coexistence of wild Daphnia populations
