The 2026 Annual Meeting of the Tohoku Branch of the Zoological Society of Japan will be held for two days on Saturday, July 25 and Sunday, July 26, 2026, at the Hikarigaoka Campus of Fukushima Medical University in Fukushima City, Fukushima Prefecture, as outlined below. General presentations will be given as oral presentations, and scientific research presentations by high school students will be given as poster presentations. We have secured the conference room (with a capacity of 120 people) at the I&H Hikarigaoka Pharmacy, which opened in 2024, as the venue, and we look forward to your enthusiastic participation. Furthermore, this year's "Enjoying Zoology with Parents and Children" event is scheduled to feature a public lecture by Mr. Shuji Saito of the Fukushima Insect Fauna Research Group on September 26 in Fukushima City.
The deadline for submitting applications for participation and presentations at the July branch conference is Wednesday, July 1, 2026, by 19:00 (strict deadline).

*Please note that the above schedule is subject to change depending on the number of presentations, etc. Additionally, preparation for poster mounting will begin at 12:30, so please ensure your poster is fully set up by 13:00.
How to applyPlease fill out the required information (name, affiliation abbreviation, contact address, phone number, and email address) on the participation application form, copy the application form section into the body of your email, and send it to biol2000@fmu.ac.jp. If you are a presenter, please fill out the required information on the presentation application form—which includes the presentation title (approx. 35 full-width characters), presenters (full names and affiliations of all co-presenters, with the speaker clearly specified), and presentation abstract (approx. 450 full-width characters)—in addition to the participation application details, and send them by email.

Participation fee: 500 yen (Please pay at the reception on the day) *High school students and chaperones are free
AnnouncementGeneral presentations will be oral presentations using PowerPoint (scheduled for 12 minutes of speaking time and 3 minutes of Q&A). An LCD projector and computers (both Windows and Mac) will be provided, but to avoid technical issues, please bring your own computer if possible. Also, please ensure it is updated beforehand. If you are not bringing your computer, please submit your data to the reception desk at least 15 minutes before the start of the conference (on the 25th by 15:15, on the 26th by 8:45).
social gatheringA social gathering will be held after the first day of the conference at the I&H Hikarigaoka Pharmacy 3rd Floor Staff-Only Cafe (Zen no Zen). The expected fee for the gathering is 3,000 yen for students and 5,000 yen for staff members. We encourage many of you to attend. Please indicate your attendance on the branch conference registration form.
