Dear Members of the Zoological Society of Japan

Last night, I received notification from member Toyoko Akiyama regarding the passing of Dr. Hiroshi Watanabe, Professor Emeritus at the University of Tsukuba and a former recipient of the Zoological Science Award. He passed away on November 9 at the age of 97, and his funeral was already held on the 14th.
We hereby express our deepest condolences and pray for the repose of the soul of Professor Hiroshi Watanabe.
