Public Symposium: "Thinking about the City and Society 20 Years from Now in the Age of Degeneration: Space × Urban × Genetics × Ecology"
March 1, 2022 (Tue) 13:00 - 17:00 Held online
Free admission. Anyone can participate (advance registration required).
Objective: Amid converging challenges such as the contraction of local communities due to a declining birthrate and aging population, increasingly severe and frequent disasters, and the manifestation of global environmental issues, a new vision of society where humans and nature are in harmony is required through the integration of scientific fields unconstrained by conventional thinking. This symposium will discuss the towns and societies of 20 years from now in the era of contraction, as well as interdisciplinary collaboration and integration for their realization, through the practices of young professionals from industry, government, and academia who are working to solve community-rooted issues in the fields of space, ecology, genetics, and cities.
