The 16th Joint Symposium of the Entomological Science Coalition of Japan and the Science Council of Japan will be held.

Building on the lectures given at the highly successful International Congress of Entomology (ICE2024 KYOTO), our federation published a commemorative book titled “The Forefront of Insect Science” on March 30, 2026. When the International Congress of Entomology was held in Japan for the first time in 1980, a commemorative volume titled "Recent Advances in Insect Science" (1981) was also published. Comparing these two commemorative books reveals the emergence of new fields during this period, as well as the new developments in fields that many people have researched since days past. Therefore, in this symposium, four leading researchers in Japanese insect science, who were also deeply involved in writing "The Forefront of Insect Science" (2026), will share fascinating talks related to the cutting edge of insect science.

This is a must-listen for current and future entomologists, as well as bug enthusiasts, so please feel free to join us.
