Introduction
The 95th Annual Meeting of the Zoological Society of Japan will be held for three days from Thursday, September 12 to Saturday, September 14, 2024, at the Bunkyo Campus of Nagasaki University in Nagasaki City, under the following outline. Access to the venue is about 40 minutes by bus from Nagasaki Airport, or about 20 minutes by tram after arriving at JR Nagasaki Station by Shinkansen (bullet train).
General presentations are limited to oral presentations only. As this is a great opportunity for students to give an oral presentation as well, we encourage you to actively submit presentation abstracts. The conference registration fee for students presenting an abstract will be a flat rate of 2,000 yen. In addition, we would like to hold as many open-call symposiums and related meetings as possible. Applications are already open, so please feel free to apply. We sincerely hope that many of you will attend this conference and help make it a success.
Surrounded by the sea, Nagasaki is blessed with an abundance of seafood. Historically, it has been a region of active exchange with Western and Asian countries, giving it a unique food culture. 5. General Presentations
All general presentations will be oral presentations and will be held on the first and third days of the conference (both morning and afternoon). The presentation guidelines will be posted on the conference website.
Oral presentations will be conducted by projecting the screen of the computer brought by the presenter from a liquid crystal projector installed at the venue.
General presentations as the primary presenter (oral presenter) are limited to one per person. Since presentations are restricted to members of the Zoological Society of Japan, non-members must join the Zoological Society of Japan. Membership and membership fee payment procedures can be found on the Zoological Society of Japan website ( https://www.zoology.or.jp/about/registration/ Please start from the parenthesis.
Even if you are a member, those who have not paid their membership dues up to the 2023 academic year (July 2023 to June 2024) cannot present. Therefore, please apply for your presentation after paying your dues.
6. Tournament participation and abstract submission methods
Participants wishing to apply should visit the tournament website ( https://www.zoology.or.jp/annual-meeting/1/ ), and complete your registration (a Zoological Society of Japan membership number is required for registration). The conference website can be found on the Zoological Society of Japan website ( https://www.zoology.or.jp/ is also linked from ). The registration site is scheduled to be released around mid-April. We will contact you again when registration becomes available.
Once you have completed entering the required information and paying the registration fee by credit card, a registration ID will be issued and displayed on the screen. The registration ID is required for abstract submission, so please be sure to print it out and keep it in a safe place.
The abstract submission deadline is Friday, May 31, 2024, at 12:00 PM, and modifications are allowed until Friday, June 7, 2024, at 12:00 PM.
Online registration and payment of the participation fee will be accepted until Friday, August 16. On-site registration is also available and will be accepted at the conference venue.
Undergraduate and graduate students who are not presenting and wish to attend should register at the venue reception on the day of the conference (membership numbers of the Zoological Society of Japan are not required for registration).
A questionnaire regarding accommodation will be conducted from the registration screen on the conference website. This questionnaire is for receiving subsidies from local governments, and the information provided will not be used for any purposes other than this. We appreciate your cooperation.
7. Participation fee and banquet fee
Conference registration is free for undergraduate and graduate students who are not presenting.

Please pay the conference registration fee and banquet fee by credit card after completing your registration. You may use a card under a name different from that of the participant. Credit card details, such as the cardholder's name and number, are used exclusively for payment processing, and neither the Zoological Society of Japan nor the Annual Meeting Executive Committee will have access to this data.
Cancellations of tournament participation are accepted until Friday, August 23. If you must cancel your participation, please notify the Zoological Society Secretariat (zsj-society [at] zoology.or.jp). Please note that registration and banquet fees cannot be refunded for cancellations made after this date.
8. Online participation
Those who have difficulty participating on-site due to pregnancy, childcare, nursing care, poor health, etc., can give an oral presentation online. In addition, you can view the screen video and audio of the venue using the camera and microphone installed at the venue. 9. Social gathering
On the evening of the second day of the tournament (Friday, September 13), at Hotel New Nagasaki ( https://www.newnaga.com ) will hold a social gathering. If you are accompanied by a guest, please also pay the guest's social gathering fee upon registration. We look forward to the participation of many of you attending the conference.
Nursery
A childcare room will be set up during the conference. A "Childcare Service Survey" will be conducted in July, followed by a final call for childcare requests in late August. Contracts will be made directly between the users and the childcare contractor. Please note that the academic society will subsidize up to half of the childcare fees, but the subsidization rate may vary depending on the usage status of the childcare services.
11. Symposium and Related Meetings

Please note that we plan to hold as many open-call symposia and related meetings as possible, but due to limitations on the number of available venues and time, we may not be able to accommodate your request.
12. High school student presentation
A poster presentation of biological research by high school students will be held on the third day of the conference (Saturday, September 14). Junior high school students can also present jointly with high school students. 13. Zoology Plaza
The Zoology Plaza will be held from the morning of the 3rd day of the conference (Saturday, September 14). 14. Public Lecture
The public lecture, "Zoology Supporting the Future of Aquaculture: Understanding How Animals Live Makes Aquaculture Exciting," will be held on the afternoon of the third day of the conference (Saturday, September 14). Details will be posted on the conference website as they become available.
15. Accommodation, etc.
The venue city, Nagasaki, is a mid-sized tourist city with a population of around 400,000. However, congestion in accommodations is anticipated due to a traditionally limited number of lodging facilities, the event overlapping with consecutive holidays, and concurrent scheduling with other academic conferences. We strongly recommend booking your accommodation as early as possible.
